Udaya opened in September 1999 and is located in East Ham, London. Our chefs are from Kerala, a small state in Southern India and are renowned for the cooking of traditional Keralan food.

Udaya is a restaurant that is recognised as breaking new ground in the presentation of Kerala dishes, including some which are new to this country.

We like to make our guests feel extraordinarily special, we strive to exceed our guest's expectations and try to ensure that each dining experience is a memorable one.

Complimentary Meals to NHS

On Monday 11th May 2020, Udaya Restaurant proudly donated free meals to all the NHS staff at Newham University Hospital. We provided over 400 meals to cater for both day and night shift workers.

Our gesture was a small token of our deep appreciation and gratitude towards the amazing work that our healthcare workers have been undertaking. The real heroes who have been working risking their own lives, to bring us, a better tomorrow.

Big thanks from all of us at Udaya

This is our humble tribute all members of the NHS.

When, as we know it will, life returns to some semblance of normality, the entire country will owe everyone in the NHS, from backroom staff to doctors, a huge debt of gratitude for the invaluable role you played in helping us get there. Without you, many more would have died, and yet more suffered, unnecessarily.

So, from everyone at Udaya Restaurant, and on behalf of the UK as a whole …. THANK YOU to every single member of the NHS!

Udaya shortlisted as finalists for London Curry Awards 2019

Finalists have now been revealed for the 2nd London Curry Awards.

A list of talented and dedicated individuals from London’s leading curry houses was compiled after public nominations flooded in from across the capital. The London Curry Awards exist to recognise and celebrate the devotion, service and tasty food provided by the best establishments within the industry, working hardest to perfect every meal and host every guest. The renowned black-tie award ceremony will take place on 1st July at London’s Brentford Lock Holiday Inn Hotel.

Udaya Restaurant is one of the finalists in the Best South Indian Restaurant category and will collect an accolade at the elegant ceremony.
